Fallen Elves

Cursed by the destruction of the Feywild, where the mana that sustained their eternal youth and beauty flourished, the Fallen Elves now languish. The vibrant colors of their skin and hair have faded to a ghost-like white, and the polluted air and smoke brought on by the industrial progress of Crudilex has become poisonous to them. They live half-lives as outcasts on the edges of society, forced to wear enchanted masks to stave off the effect of their curse. Should a year pass without an enchanted mask, the Fallen are driven mad by the lack of Feywild magic. Many fear them, for at any time a fallen elf may degrade to a point of no return, transforming into little more than a monster, a twisted, broken, powerful beast known as a Feral Elf.

Racial Traits

Lifespan: Though you cannot die of old age, as time goes on, the years show on your body. The oldest Elves look similar to a human in their 80s.

Size: Your size is Medium or Small

Speed: Your walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision: Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Trance: Elves do not sleep. Instead, they meditate in a semi-conscious state for 4 hours. While meditating, it is possible to dream, though such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive after years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human would from 8 hours of sleep.

Firearm proficiency: You have proficiency with Firearms.

Refusing to fade: You may use your Wisdom modifier for damage instead of Strength.

Blightcraft: You know the Druidcraft cantrip, but when you use it the effect is wilted, blight-like, and necrotic, a perversion of nature.

Cursed by birth: You have resistance to poison damage. If you take poison damage from an enemy, you may, once per long rest, gain advantage on your next attack against that enemy.

Loss of the Sylvan: The very atmosphere of this world is unbearable to you. While unmasked, you have disadvantage on checks and saves involving sanity. If you are unmasked for more than a year, you are driven Insane and become a Feral elf.
