Holly Cartographic University
“Not many people would call a smelly, messy, disorganized office home. But this is the one my mom and dad built for me. I’m right proper proud of it.” – Ida Holly
Established by the Holly Cartographic Society with the intention of raising funds to complete the work of the Holly family in mapping the whole of the world, the building began as little more than a notary, keeping records for the city of Grand Nostradan. Slowly, it expanded, growing into a guild and then a university, adding more programs: Archaeology, History, Artifice, Transplanar Physics, and of course, Cartography.
Every year, more floors were added, and more professors were hired. Eventually, whole classes would be sent on mapping expeditions that filled in the map while also exploring their field of study. The school became a well-known place for explorers and adventurers to find funding and support, a legacy that has continued to this day, long after the completion of the society's world-mapping mission.

For those who have followed my work for a while or read my book, they may already be familiar with Ida, the in-universe writer of Ida’s Guide to Worlds Beyond Our Own, who has appeared at the corner of all of my maps for years! Well, this map is a dedication to her! This is where all her work is done during her many adventures and expeditions. Her workspace may be disorganized, but her heart is always full, and she is always excited and delighted by the stories of other explorers and by making new adventurer friends! I’ve worked on this map as my warm-up for a day of mapping, on and off, for about a year now, and I think it has finally reached a point I’d call done. The other option is that I continue fiddling with it forever, and no one ever gets to see it.
