North of the Thousandtide Valley, nearly beyond the reach of the heat of Crudilex, lies a crack in the earth—a pit that descends into the dark Sunless Sea. This is the only known stairwell leading to the Underdark. It derives its name from the punishment enacted in lieu of execution. Criminals and vagrants convicted of capital offenses in Dawnfire are given three options: join the Crusade, duel for their lives, or face banishment to the Sunless Sea via Exile's Door.
